(January 17, 2013) Wheaton, Illinois – AAA Appliance Service Center® participated in the Greater Chicago Food Depository food drive named "One City, One Food Drive". The 2012 drive completed on 16 November 2012. The time, energy, and support provided by all will make it possible for the Food Depository to ensure that hungry men, women, and children in the Chicago community who turn to pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters for emergency and supplemental food each year, will not go hungry. Food drives are an important source of nutritious food for hungry community neighbors.

The problem of hunger in Cook county Illinois is too big for the Food Depository to handle alone. Fortunately, each year, thousands of individuals, corporations, and organizations join the Food Depository in the fight against hunger by organizing food drives to collect food for the community. AAA Appliance Service Center® is one such company.

AAA℠ set a goal of collecting 600 pounds of food for the 2012 drive. They collected and donated 726 pounds of food, and this will provide more than 545 quality meals for the hungry in the Chicago community.

(November 21, 2012) Wheaton, Illinois – On the Thursday before Thanksgiving, November 17, 2011, appliance repair technicians at AAA Appliance Service Center® completed a course, "Factory Authorized and Certified Appliance Repair Technician", by DACOR Manufacturing. This full day course as taken by technicians James, Mike, George, Jay, Dave, Al, Ricky, Tom, Art, and Brandon (last names intentionally withheld).

This full day course was held at an AAA Appliance Service Center® facility, and the training covered all DACOR Manufacturing products. DACOR Manufacturing provided the expert instructor for the course. Completing the course brought each of the student technicians' diagnostic and repair skills up to date, and provided each student the opportunity to get questions they had answered. AAA Appliance Service Center® has its technicians take the course and get recertified twice a year, even though annual certification is all that is required. (July 06, 2012) Wheaton, Illinois – At the most recent Appliance Service Training Institute (ASTI) convention, held Wednesday, 15 February 2012 to Saturday, 18 February 2012, at the El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, the convention organizers asked James C. Dolbeare, Sr., owner and CEO of AAA Appliance Service Center® to give a presentation to the attendees on ways to expand the number and type of repair services to customers.

This appliance repair training convention is an industry event presented by the United Servicers Association. This was the third annual ASTI and it has grown in attendance to more than 600 independent retail and service business operators, technicians and educators. The 2012 ASTI presented more than 80 workshops, seminars and speakers including 44 appliance manufacturers.

James Dolbeare's presentation was an opportunity for attendees to look at methods and strategies to grow each of their businesses. Some of the examples from his presentation included moving into the service of stainless steel scratch removal on appliances and other stainless steel items. Another strategy was adding equipment to the list of serviced items that a company might not normally service, such as coffeemakers or paint shakers. Another service diversification opportunity is adding delivery and installation of equipment. This could include residential as well as commercial opportunities.
